Itinerary

Upon arrival in Casablanca, your private driver will greet and welcome you. Depending on your arrival time, you will visit Mosque of Hassan II, the largest and elaborately designed mosque in Africa. It is located on a promontory looking out to the Atlantic Ocean with 209m tall minaret. Hassan II Mosque is absolutely architectural masterpiece and it has 105.000 worshippers capacity. After Casablanca visits, you will head to the modern capital city, Rabat for overnight stay.

Capital Rabat is the fascinating mix of old and new. After breakfast you will explore the attractions of Rabat; picturestic northern wall of the Oudaïa Kasbah, Hassan Tower & Mohamed V Mausoleum and Dar al-Makhzen-is the offical residence of the King. After Rabat exploration, you will head towards Chefchaouen. Afternoon you will visit the vividly blue-colored small town of Chefchaouen which nestles in the hollow of the two mountains – Ech-Chaoua (The Horns) – from which it takes its name. Steep narrow streets with white and indigo limewashed buildings, small squares, ornate fountains and houses with elaborately decorated doorways and red tile roofs make this a delightful town.

Your local guide will escort you on a walk around 2000 year old, The Capitoline Temple, Basilica, Roman Baths, Triumphal Arch, Houses & Palaces which adorned with beautiful mosaics. Ancient site gained international acclaim when Martin Scorsese made it a feature location for his film, The Last Temptation of Christ. Imperial city of Meknes offers amazing attaractions to explore the most beautiful gate of Bab Mansour, Heri es-Souani (Royal Stables for 12.000 horses), Agdal Reservoir, Old Medina and the Bab el-Khemis via Thursday Gate. Head to Fes for overnight stay.

Today you will visit cultural capital of Morocco, Fes. Your local guide will escort you around the oldest working medina in the world that many refer to as a living museum. Step back into the medival ages in the labyrinth of the medina, which is alive with craftsmen, markets, tanneries and mosques. Passing donkeys piled high with goods (this is one of the biggest car-free urban zones in the world with 9000 narrow streets) and explore the specialty sections that seperate the souk. You will start to explore step by step Royal Palace, Blue Gate, Clock Tower, Bou Inania Madrasa, Nejjarine Fountain & Museum of Wooden, Oldest University Al Quaraouiyin and its mosque & library, experience handicraft weavers, Al Attarine Madrasa, Tanneries, Borj Sud, experience of local art Moroccan tiles (zellige) and ceramics, Bodj Nord.

You leave Fes behind and head towards the Middle Atlas mountains. Ascending over the Atlas Mountains enroute you will pass by Ifrane, a beautiful ski resort, known as “Little Switzerland” and see the cedar woods and barbary apes in Azrou. You will have your lunch at middle of journey in Midelt where is famous with apple production. Descending through the Atlas Mountains, you will drive along the Ziz Valley with giant palm trees, here is the largest dates producer in Morocco. Arrive in Merzouga before sunset and then go by dromedary camel 45-60 minutes, at sunset, into the Erg Chebbi Dunes to camp overnight in your luxury bivouac tent at Desert oasis.

This morning you visit the Gnaoua people, originally slaves brought from Sudan, there play Gnaoua music, you will learn about them and enjoy their music. Then you leave from Sahara Desert to Skoura Oasis. We will stop in Todra Gorges the highest oasis in Morocco where the 300m canyons will literally take your breath away and you can walk along the shallow river enjoying the changing colours. Then continue your journey towards another impressive gorge Dades passing the strange rock creation of Tamnalt Hills. Dades Valley, carved by centuries by the Dades River. The striking colors of the red and mauve rock that towers above the road. After our visit we will be passing the Rose Valley known for the growth of roses. The whole valley in the spring smells of roses. Head to Skoura Oasis for overnight stay

After brekfast, you will drive to Ouarzazate – Hollywood of Africa – is a world renowned film making location. From Lawrence of Arabia in the 60’s to Salmon Fishing in the Yemen 2011 – you can visit the Atlas Studios (optional). Then you head to the fortified city of Ait Benhaddou, UNESCO World Heritage site listed village, the most spectacular Ksar in all of Morocco. Situated on the old caravan route from the Sahara to Marrakech. Head to Marrakech for overnight stay

Today you will visit tourism capital of Morocco, the red city Marrakech. Your local guide will escort you around 12th century Koutoubia Mosque, beautiful El Bahia Palace, Majorelle Garden and Old Medine of Marrakech. Then you will be meandering the arms-width streets of the souks bazaars to Jamaa El Fna Square, the famous market square in Marrakech’s old quarter complete with storytellers, magicians, food stalls and snake charmers. Enjoy your fresh fruit juice at Jamaa El Fna end of the day.

Today we head toward to Essaouira. You will see a completely different side of Morocco at the Atlantic coastline of Essaouira. An authentic medival seaside town, Essaouira is an alluring, unspoilt destination with a tangible North African feel. Visit this charming artist colony that boasts lovely white-washed and blue-shuttered houses, colonnades, thuya wood workshops, art galleries, and mouthwatering seafoods. Take a stroll along the town’s old medina, Jewish mellah, fishing harbor, skala du Port are offering breathtaking views of Essaouira. The medina of Essaouira is UNESCO World Heritage listed city, as an example of a late-18th century fortified town. End of the day you will be back to Marrakech.
